I. Introduction
Are They Coaching, available in the iOS App Store assists basketball coaches with useful tools and a printable stats sheet.
Upon finishing the Are They Hooping redesign, I was asked to redesign its partner mobile app. User attrition rates were rising and I worked to create an empathetic design catered to the ideal user.

The Are They Coaching app struggled to incorporate consistent product branding throughout the application and consisted of very limited functionality that did not appeal to their target user audience.

Create an empathetic and consistent design that enhances product branding for users. While also providing engaging and intuitive features that highlights the purpose of the Are They Coaching app.
II. The Design Process
I previously worked as the Director of Design of Collective Minds Inc. (CMi), while working on Are They Hooping (ATH) I was tasked with redesigning the partner coaching app, Are The Coaching (originally Roster Sheet). The original design was not responsive and the client wanted to expand the functionality of the app.
I conducted usability and heuristic evaluations of the Are They Coaching app and conducted a stakeholder interview with the creator to gain insight into their users' needs and enhance the product branding and functionality.
By incorporating consistent typography and iconography in the Are They Coaching app, I can promote the brand redesign displayed in the Are They Hooping app and this should increase their product's user retention.
I created an I Wish, I Like, What If diagram and Feature Prioritization Matrix to construct the information architecture of the redesign. I also created a User Flow Diagram and ideated sketch wireframes of the newly added features.
I created a Hi-Fidelity Clickable Prototype to demonstrate the final Are They Coaching product. I created 3 new screens and redesigned the splash screen. I also incorporated the same color scheme and branding as in ATH.
We conducted user testing via Testflight, this enabled the company to gather user insights from a large database of their targeted audience. Overall, users who participated in testing were satisfied with the UI design changes and enjoyed Are They Coaching's enhanced functionality.
III. Conclusion
Unfortunately, there were time limitations with the development of this product. Currently, a limited version of this redesign is available in the iOS App Store and a full update of the application is in the works! My client wanted to supply their users with the functionality while the design in development, keep up with updates on the app store!
